Trust me I am one of the people that sees this as a problem.

In what way would this be a legal matter for MR? I ask because I would like to know, i.e. become more informed since already we have been threatened with lawsuits. So what legal basis do people actually have to sue?!

Additionally, ripping someone off is a big deal for a vendor, and if it actually does happen their status as a vendor here would end quickly.
