this is frustrating, while sounding and looking like the description of eye fluke, I'm not so sure that is what the CBB has.

the life cycle of eye fluke (found here http://www.qc.ec.gc.ca/CSL/inf/inf043_e.html) travels from a seagull to a snail, then to the fish, then back through the bird that eats the infected fish. I have snails but have not seen a seagull near my tank since it was set up.
