Thanks for the response Rich! No, the drain pipe (1 1/2" btw) from the skimmer ends 1 inch above the water level in my sump. I was told it needs to be this way since I'm using a pressure rated pump (Gen X 55) and you aren't supposed to sumbmerge the return pipe.
