| update: clam....?!?!
so i've been doing 20% water changes weekly. i don't dose anything right now, just water changes with IO/reef crystals/oceanic (whatever i feel like at the moment). i like to skim wet and my remora is still pulling out dark tea. i average almost 10 gallons of evaporation a week. by the way, anyone got an answer to my previous ro/di questions?
anyways, i've never owned a clam and i decided it was time. i got an ora crocea. it cost me a pretty penny and it was pretty small. the pictures were taken last night. today when i turned on the light, i checked on the clam and it was not just dead, but almost completely disintegrated. there is just some small bits of flesh stuck onto the shell. i again took pictures not 30 min ago. my question is: how is this possible? was my clam eaten? again, i don't have any experience with clams but from what i could tell and from what i've read, it looked fine last night. if it was my water parameters, could this happen so acutely? what the heck?!?! |
