I'm in. I like The Reef Aquarium v. III as well. I know it's pricey, but it really stands out as a true reference book to be familiar with.

I'm in for the reef aquarium Vol.3
I have the other two and they were by far the most useful books i have ever bought. I think buy.com has it for cheaper $65 and free shipping

Well, I was going to take Jon up on his suggestion that I play Oprah, but I'm more than happy to let Leslie take the lead on this I think it might be more important for me to take the role of Dr. Phil.

As much as I love the RA vol. 3 and think it is the most comprehensive system design book out there, it is a bit like starting with Moby Dick or Ulysses---- where do you go from there????? And this is not the book I would suggest to beginners if that is our intent. What would I suggest? Hmmm. I'm not sure, I'll get back to you.

If u notice not many are willing to get into this idea of reading....And ofcourse the price is a little steep. So may be there is a way we can cut costs?

Randy your welcome to take the lead, once a book is picked you can start the thread for it.
thinking about it I agree the reef volume 3 is too much to start with.
for me it's the default reference. I'm interested to see what choices you come up with.
