What I do is to find a hole in the rockwork which it will fit in and where I would prefer it. Then I put the stem in the hole and epoxy around the stem to hold it in there in place untill it has a chance to attach itself. works every time for me and then it just spreads like wildfire.

If you use the rubberbands, put it around the xenia body a couple of times in different places so it won't cut through it. Also it shouldn't be so tight to cut it immediately. You can also just put it on top of rocks as long as there is not enough flow that it is moving. It will usually attach on its own in a few days. |

another way is to get a small bowl or container and out some LR rubble in it. Give it some time and the xenia will attach itself

needle and thread works too, just don;t tie it too tightly. or mesh with a rubber band. Better throw that xenia on the sand too before it spreads anywhere you don;t want it to. |

mesh or a hair net works great the xenia will grow through it in no time and u can cut the remainder away from the colony. Then u can spend the rest of ur time trying to keep it from attaching to everyhting else. |
