Question Staghorn question

What would distinguish a staghorn such as nobilis from a formosa? like when you're looking at branching acros and you're not sure which is which?

i think it is distinguish by its skeletal shape n how it grows out. I'm sure its a lot more complicated than that though.

Skelatal structure is similar but differnt as well and uaully distiguishes one from another - coralaites etc
