my frogpawn is wilting

He is only about 3" in diameter. He is 12" from the lights (top of my rockwork). He is getting gentle flow. I target feed him every other day alternating shrimp and pellets and he gets phyto 2x a day every day. His tentacles are always drooping over his sides exposing his mouth. Is that OK?

I would first try to position it so that the tissue is not touching anything. It should have a strong skeleton base, you can usually apply epoxy to position the head on a rock so it is sticking out into the water column. As long as the head isn't touching anything it should be fine.

You can also try a little more flow, some of them prefer low-medium flow.

I forgot to mention that it looks pretty healthy, an exposed mouth in frogspawns is normal at that size. Deeper in the tank might help, 12" is a bit too close to the lights.

No need feeding it that much, if at all...
I doubt Phyto does anything. Dosing that much, make sure you stay up on water changes.

It looks normal to me, but stop throwing food at him. I have never fed a Euphyllia directly and I think others can attest, mine grow out of control.

I've never direct fed my euphyllia's either. Besides, pellets aren't anything it can feed on. That much phyto and you'll soon be battling massive algae outbreaks. Err on the side of underfeeding when it comes to phyto.

I was worried because I have only seen frogspawn all puffed up. If I cannot keep a frogspawn, I'll never graduate from beginner school

It is good to know that he looks healthy. I moved him so that he is not touching anything just in case.

I know that I have a problem with overfeeding. You should see what happens when I cook. Jerry has forbidden me from forcing anymore food on the doormen! I am decreasing the amount of food that I give the tank gradually, and I have posted a schedule on the wall to keep Jerry and I from double feeding.

Thanks for the reassurance on the little guys health!
