Not sure if you know or not, but sedra sells these this way for the ASM skimmers - meaning factory mesh impeller. FWIW House

Fritz, from my experience, the pump is about $30 more than it's equivalent without the mesh imperller - a google search or review of the ASM site will show the difference in prices. House

Yeah I found these: http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/sh...ad.php?t=24565 http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=32196 http://www.gnova.net/files/meshwheel/thumbnails.html http://www.bostonreefers.org/forums/...d.php?p=393434 My only point was that if you already have the pump, why buy anything else? This is one of the easiest DIYs and it costs almost nothing to do. I guess it would be nice to have a backup impeller in case you don't like using mesh but I doubt that highly. Most of the skimmer companies are putting out mesh stock or will be shortly. I've heard that BK is working on a titanium mesh for their RD pumps. The stock Sedra 5000 goes from around 9lpm to around 15lpm with the mesh mod! That's a great performance boost for $3 worth of material and 5 minutes of time. |

Wurd! I didn't gleen from his PM that he had the pump in hand. Great links too! House

It's the code word! No matter how you say it, you know that you'll be heard. Ah! Yeah if you don't have the skimmer yet, for an extra $30 I'd go for the mesh version. Pam Anderson is still hot btw, oldness and Hep C aside. |
