You did such an amazing job on that system.

The ONLY thing that jumps out at me is why didn't you paint the back of your tank?

Out of curiosity is painting the back just an asthetic thing or is there another reason behind it?

Aesthetic only. I just don't like seeing the wall, plumbing, stand, wires behind the tank through the glass. IMO it distracts the viewers attention. And you did an amazing job on the woodwork I wouldn't want anyone looking at anything but fish, coral, inverts and wood

You can buy just a plain black background if you wanted it. As a matter of fact, I think some places sell straight black on one side and straight blue on the opposite side.
