I am looking to replace my current skimmer, which is a Euro Reef that is 9 years old. I don’t recall the model number. It still is pulling a good amount of waste. Skimmer has a Sedra pump.

I figured after 9 years skimmer technology has changed and it seems like a good idea to upgrade. Total system volume is 150 gallons of water. It is a mixed reef tank moderately populated.

I have read through a lot of the threads and skimmer clubs here on the forum. So I am looking for recommendations for which skimmer to go with within reason. After reading many of the threads it becomes unclear on which is a solid performer. TIA.

I would recommend a Super Reef Octopus Xp-2000. These are the best bang for your buck skimmers out there at the moment IMO.

1+ am running one of those sro and am very happy and u get a 3 year warranty on the pump

Why not stay with the Euroreef. I still think they are one of the best skimmers ever sold

I have no issue with the Euro Reef. Sometimes the mindset that newer technology is better and maybe that is not the case.

Skimmer has worked fine replaced the Sedra pump once. Appreciate the responses.

Waiting for my vertex alpha cone 200 it will be at my house tomorrow .I have 200 gallons of water total in my system .check out the vertex alpha cones there suppossed to be one of the best and there made by bubble king

Oh and I bought the automatic cleaner for it I think its called the vectra its made by vertex I think u would need the same one I ordred for ur system

Very true maybe put the funds to purchase a MP40 for the tank.
