Male Female
Ostracion whitleyi-Whitley Boxfish
A rare fish that doesn't show up that often, when it does it can command a high price. Males are much more colorful than females and are usually larger. They're ich magnets so they need to be QT before you place one into your tank. They're not reef safe as they will eat inverts and may take bits out of corals, while looking for food. They do well in FO or Fowlr tank but need peaceful tanks mates as they're slow swimmers. They can give off toxins so you need to be careful.
Because of their beaks they shouldn't be kept in acrylic tanks, as they can take bits out of the acrylic and leave scratches.
