Variola Louti-Louti
One of the most active and aggressive grouper available. Unlike other groupers, which hide or sit waiting for food, the Louti Groupers will always be in front of the tank which makes it a good show fish to have. They will actually move sand and rocks around, sometimes digging a hole. It changes from it juv colors, which is a red top and a white bottom with a dark blue band running the length of it's body, which fades away as time going on to leave an all red fish with blue dots. Gets very large, about 2'-3' and need a very large tank. Sometimes is sold under the name Cherry grouper and doesn't have the blue band on it. This is another type of Variola grouper that when fully grow looks similar to the Louti.
