Reefer Ratings: (0) Friends: (0) | cuban hog
It seems my cuban hog which I have had for 2 years is acting wierd. He is hiding a eating a little bit and staying away from the other fish. I have move him to quartine and I was hoping someone would have an idea what I can feed him and what I can do to help him get stronger. His eyes and skin and fins look ok. maybe a little color loss on his skin but I figured he is not eating enough. Trying to give him shrimp with garlic. Thanks David |

feed all food w/ garlic. hopefully he'll ingest some and it will build his appetite and aid in recovery. it's my experience that moving fish into qt tanks further stresses them. good luck jon-

Use the MR search function and type in garlic you will find quite a few ref's for garlic, also you can try Reef Central, and many other retail and other online sites like dr fosters and smiths website and Peteducation.com.

Sorry, but after looking I see nothing conclusive about it. A few things from manufacturers like Marc Weiss (not a fair reference)...and opinions but nothing factual or even really pretending to be. I did find this: http://afs.allenpress.com/perlserv/?...G%3E2.0.CO%3B2 But it's a totally different application. d. |

when the garlic is soaked up by the food and the fish eat it their appetite increases and t helps build up their immune system. i'm just telling you from my own and other's experiences

I tied a few cloves and hung it my tank and changed it every 2 or three days. Some fish ate it and obviously it would leach out into the water. My fish with ich cleared in 2 weeks with no affects. |
