I have heard that some bristleworms are good for the aquarium, some not. I have discovered a rather large one over, 6 inches, that appears at night. Should I remove him? If so what are some natural methods? I hear coral banded shrimp work. Is this true? I am presuming this is a bristleworm it is very similar looking to a cetipede.

the bristelworms are brown at the middle and orange at the ends. Don't touch them they'll stick you with the bristels and they hurt like hell. I have a coral banded shirmp that cleaned up my tank from a bristelworm invasion, I've actually seen him pluck the worm from the rocks and chop it up and eat it. Where there's one there are usually alot more.

Thanks for all your help folks. You know it's not that worms concern me. I like to have them in the tank. But this guy was so big (I might have been conservative in my size estimates as i never saw the head or tail. ) For now I am going to monitor him, her,it. My only concern was I heard the large ones can have a voracious appertite.
