I was in lowes today, I saw some nice tables saws perfect size for making the stuff we want. though I have an old craftsman, I've become kind of a tool snob. I figure if I kept a small table saw, and router table, along with the laser I can make just about anything. i would not mind having people over when the weather is nice. I have that big roof deck we can cut stuff on then glue up the projects inside. of course if you cut off a finger st.vincents is right down the street to sow it back on. I know they take Oxford, I've been there a few times myself

it's hooked up to coral draw 6, as long as the file is an eps format it will open it. probably a good idea to save a few different types of eps. I'll figure it out soon. I have just about every design program, so I can always convert the file's if I have to.

Yeah, I guess i am hosting it on the 30th if that's going to work out with Wedfr and Jhale? Let me know who wants to come and i'll PM you the details. Still have problems with the complete lack of tools, but i guess we could just pre-cut everything before hand and assemble them on the day?

man, DIY night is getting spread out in a bunch of different threads, I did not want to start another one to confuse things, but i wanted to post this.
I thought it would be bad ass if we could put a cool logo on the stuff we make, so I started playing around with some designs. this is the first one, I'm sure I'll do a bunch more. I'll make them on the laser with some two tone material, so the etched out part would be black, and the background could be silver or whatever.

I know, I left the .com off, I was thinking these would look cool on the front of our skimmers and reactors we make.
I didn't think the .com needed to be there. It makes us more like a club. I'd like to see a thread on RC with our best work shown, and then have a professional logo glued to it, hehe, people will freak out.
Here's what else I'm thinking, if we get good at making skimmers and reactors, maybe we can make it a side business.
I don't know if using mr.com's name is appropriate for that, but it could be a cool brand. It's obvious we have the talent and know how to do that here, I think finding the time would be the challenge. Is this crazy? I was talking about this with some of the guys at industrial plastics today, we met there to see if there were any good last minute deals, there weren't any. oh well.
