I have the same problem but I just have it in my fuge (Cyano). What would cause this in my fuge and not in my tank?

I've read others have the same deal, I don't know.
It's hard to say how it appears exactly, in some tanks and not others.

this will kill most things other than fish, so unless you have a fo tank or a qt set up hypo can't be used for our reef tanks.
I don't think that you need to go so low! That low would be an instant effect vs. a longer more gradual effect at 1.02 or a little lower (~1.018).

For Hypo to work you need to go down to 1.007-1.009. Any high and it just doesn't do anything. Also it needs to be ich for Hypo to work.

It's very possible that some other fish in the tank have the ich and are carrying it. Once the tank was introduces he caught if from the other fish. I would feed with garlic, if you couldn't remove the fish. As long as the fish is eating it's possible it will over come the ich by itself.

I just can't bring myself to tear apart the tank again.
If it get's worse I'll try the fish traps. In the meantime I'm feeding with garlic. If you come over it smells like I'm cooking something good ;)
