I guess the study did not show all the unwanted matter which are bad for our reef. People living costal area continuously claim to have better results than using synthetic salt mix even though their local water could be way off our normal pars and much less good stuff than the level accepted by the reefing community. At least, there are a lot of metals that presents in the mix are not shown in the study posted which MAY BE(the last study I know of did not yield a definite answer which relates to what) bad for our reef animals.

With all the contradictory information in this hobby, no wonder there is so much attrition!!
Just today, I disuaded two potential hobbyists from this endeavour...get a cat I told them.
I use Oceanic from Petco. So thats bad then now right? Would in part explain my continual issue with algae..sometimes more sometime less.
