My understanding is that probably fewer than 20 have ever been imported into the US thus the price tag is quite hefty-- somewhere in the $450+ region. My specimen arrived at the wholesaler missing the lower jaw and was thus deemed unsaleable. Someone volunteered my name as a good home for the invalid to live out it's days

Are you sure he didn't drop his dentures into the sand bed??

those are very nice and much more readily available. Mine is cf. lanceolatus which actually is a currently undescribed species. I think the trade calls it the splendid fairy wrasse.
