Blech!!!

Ok so all my parameters seem to be pretty much in check then... so what the hell is causing my LPS to be stressed!? And its not all my LPS... just those mentioned. My candy canes, acans and favia all seem to be fine, as well as all my other softies. I guess Imma have to do another wc and hope it helps.

*sigh* I dont mind problems in which you know the cause and/or solution, but to not know altogether is annoying as hell.

	LPS Large Polyped Stony corals – In the aquarium hobby this is a common division of the species of stony corals based upon the visual assessment of the size of the polyps. Corals in this category were among the first stony corals to be kept successfully in captivity and include many very beautiful species. Commonly kept Genera include Euphyllia (hammer/frogspawn coral), Favia (brain coral), Plerogyra (bubble coral), Lobophyllia (meat/tooth coral), and Caulastrea (candycane coral). LPS corals also include the popular solitary non-colonial stony corals such as Fungia (plate coral), Cynarina (button coral), Trachyphyllia (open brain coral), and Herpolitha (tongue coral). look like you may have to do a night watch under moonlights to see who pops out. if it is not obvious
i once had a mantis shrimp who only came out after lights out

So today my frogspawn was totally closed up as well as half my hammer colony. I did another water change and my frogspawn has opened up about half way, but my hammers still dont look good. In fact there is some slime coming from the mouths of 2 heads.

I looked all last night for anything that might be picking on it when the lights were off... I used a small flashlight with red celophane over it. I didnt see anything unusual.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Its been hot the last few days, what has your tank temp been?

Do you think dipping the entire colony in Lugol's solution would help?

IME euphylia sp. are sensitive to temp fluctuations

you asked what the temp was. I can only give what the thermometer says. I'm sure its possible there are fluctuations through the tank, but I wouldnt know how to read them. And there's been hotter days before, and I havent had a problem in the past. And there is pretty good flow near where these corals are so its not like the water is just sitting there being influenced by some other force. So... I dunno
