System down... maintenance help needed ASAP

Hey all,

So I woke up this morning to find out that my tank overflowed... I think it was my skimmer that was leaking but I havent figured out the source quite yet...

needless to say, lots of water leaked onto my hardwood floors, into my basement, etc. UGH!

Putting that aside, I think a few of my ballasts shorted due to the water and I cant get enough water into my system to turn on my pump, so I am worried about air supply. I also might need a new pump but not sure yet.

Anyonw know of a good place to pick this stuff up quickly near Brooklyn or of a good maintenance person that could come ASAP?

I bought the tank from 1000 Island and the Island Reef and Fin guys normally handle maintenance for me but I havent been able to track them down this morning. Maybe I am overreacting a little but i dont want to lose any life... or have more water problems... I can be reached at 718-853-9586 if any of you have equipment and good at maintenance.

good ol Rick... the guy is leaving the business and is still concerned and calls...

well... I may need to sand and repaint a wall in my basement and touch up some floors in my living room, but I think my tank is OK!

I suspect my skimmer leaked all night and ultimately caused a short circuit in one of my ballasts... I pulled everything apart in the tank and rebuild it and six hours later I think I am ok. Just need a new ballast and light for my fuge and I think I am back in business...

Good news... so far it doesnt seem like any life has been lost except a little feeling in my wrist when I got a little taste of some voltage! I should really stick to advertising (my occupation)!

Man, sorry to hear about this all - I was away on vacation or I would have responded for sure.

Let me know hows things come along - typically, things go later on after the initial shock.

So far, ok... My clam is a little distressed but all others seem to be ok. I went back to the LFS to yell at the fact they sold me a bogus skimmer which is what caused the electric malfunction... they seemed empathetic but had no issue in chargin me 85 bucks for another mini-white light and ballast for my fuge!

Anyway, all seems ok for now... i wanted to build a bathroom in my basement anyway so hopefully they can sand the drywall as part of that! you should come check out the tank... my blue carpet is taking over!

i also want to talk about getting involvement from your students with my ad company.
