That is not at all true. I dont know where you heard that from, but 6-line wrasses are perfectly reef safe. I actually have one in my reef, and it has never bothered a soul (and i have shrimps, snails, everything). Perhaps someone may have gotten one once that he thought killed a shrimp, but that is not the norm, six-line wrasses are perfectly reef safe.

I just want to second/third the 6-line is safe... I have a Royal Gramma, Maroon Clown, a blenny, and a cleaner shrimp in with him and never have seen anything that's made me nervous. Only altercations are when the 6-line swims a bit close to the Royal who like to tuck away in holes in the rocks... he'll pop out to get fiesty with the 6-Line, who just slowly swims away like he never saw him... Highly recommened addition.
