Sump

Deanos said:
Your overflow should remove those deposits and send them to the sump :scratchch. Can you show us a picture of how it's set up?

My overflow is just like everyone else's but i pvc plumbed it into the sump, (sump has some LR in it and some calurpa ....) where it is sucked up by the quietone 3000 -780gph) and delivered back to the tank via clear hose.....I'll try to post pics...

if you put in some flake food, will it get sucked right into the overflow? or are there places where it can float around the surface without getting sucked down?

Deanos ,,it seems that the over flow box needs to be a bit lower ,he has it a bit high IMO ,,,they come with plastic screws on the top to lower the box ,turn them so that the slits of the box go lower in the tank ,this way he has more of a flow going in the overflow

Ronen, the screw allows you to adjust the water level in the tank. Like Albert said, flakes on the surface should drain into the overflow, regardless what level it is at.
