MH are flickering

I just noticed that my new mh's are flickering. has anyone ever experienced this? what can i do to fix it? thanks

Silly question, but have you tried a diiferent bulb?

SAme happened to a Coralvue Retro I purchased. After about the 5th start up the flickering went away.

the bulbs are brand new. i purchased them from tony @ acropora.net... i only have 1 set of se bulbs and havent had a chance to try another. hopefully they are just breaking in.

Repeat firing with a HQI ballast is NOT GOOD for the bulb.

What kind of ballast are you using??

i'm using the reeflux bulbs and an Aqua Medic HQI ballast.

Did you scerwed the bulb in all the way?

And also, I think the nipple in the bulb facing to water surface. Anyone?
