dont worry about algae outbreaks with southdown or the tropical sand i found in lowes. there both perfect. it might blow around at 1st but once it settles (you should actually stir the sand a little once you put it in you will be fine) thats what i did with the sand in my 29 gallon. my goby loves it and no complaints.

i don't know but 80.00 for over 100lbs of live sand didn't seem too much for me. i know i paid alot more then that and i was delivering it to you at least to the otherside of the bridge so i'll make a deal with you 65.00 and you pick it up tomorrow and you can keep the buckets they come in. how's that for a deal

dont get me wrong- i know its fairly priced, its just that my tank funds r low b/c i have a new car payment. I appriciate the offers u've given. :thanks:

i wouldn't even do that, i'd just let the "life" in my live rock spread onto the sand. i've heard or read that some bacteria only live on rock and some only live on sand. the solution to that would be to get a cupfull from a few established tanks in your tank, maybe when you go to someones house to buy a frag, trade a frag, admire a tank, or just hang out.
