i been reading about bionic, what's inside their two part dosing system? is it dramatically diffrent from all the other stuff ie calcium CL. My friend said he used a CA reactor along with bionic, and the bionic was for all the other stuff, does that mean trace minerals? Because, bionic 2 part additives doesnt come with magnisum, or stronium. Is it just simply no diffrent from any other two part additives? Theres interesting tanks that shows tremendous growth with bionic rather then a CA reactor, many people on RC also saw a decrease after they switch to a CA reactor, mainly because they saw excessive Co2 in the tank. more algae blooms and whatnot, if some of the users of this product and shed some light on this matter I would be greatful thanks!

Since i got my Ca reactor thing are good in my tank ,growth seems better now then when i was using Bionic ,usless i realy didnt notice ,but i se my zoos taking off after hooking up my Ca reactor
Also I have been using the garf system on my selling tanks ,Coralline is starting to show up on glass return .and MJ900 after 2 months or so ,Main tank still nada no coralline.Im also thinking to use the seachem (garf )system on my main tank as well and get rid of the Ca Reactor ,but still thinking

House what's the regimen involved for B-ionic, is it everyday dosing?

Yes everyday they have auto dosers as well

Something about ESV that's amazing I don't know what Bob over at ESV is doing but he's got it and he's got it right. Still the same formula after all these years and consistently a great product.

The other brand just don't compare to the original.
All the ESV products are tried and true.
Even with a Calcium reactor I still dose with ESV B-ionic

By the way I'm selling (as always) the 2 gallon B-ionic for only $30-wow (hows that for shameless promotion)

Dave, I hope you find something, because since adding the reacto, my tank has been stable but slow on the growth and color. most corals turning green when shuld be purples, blues, pinks etc. Weird casue my o2 is 7.8 and PH 8.2 stable

And going to look at Kedd's tank makes me want to go back to B-Ionic,

Let me know what you find.

House
My tank has taken off since I started using a Ca reactor. I drip kalk everyday
keeps PH up. I also noticed a drop off in magniesium and strontium.
color is good and getting better. I have a pretty heavy bio load fish wise so I do a 40 gal water change every other week.
bionic works but is real expensive in a large tank.

I'm going to guess that along with the Alk buffer and calcium magniesium is also included because I had a steady level at 1600mg/l when I dosed B-ionic
I have noticed that I have less calcium bicarbonate build up since i've gone to the Ca reactor.

I am in the process of building a O3 ( ozone) reactor. from past expierence using O3 I strongly feel this will give the tank the edge as far as color and growth.

although I use a good amount of carbon in a reactor my water still has a slight tint of yellow.
I also use a Diatom filter when I do my water change to clean out my sump and to vacumum the bottom of the tank.
right now my tank parms are
Alk 9.0-10 dkh
Ca 380-400
Ph 7.9-8.2
temp is 77 degrees

mag niesium is 1350-1500
just got a new iodine iodate test kit will test tomorrow before water change
salinity is 1.025

Jon yes it's everyday at least every other at the least. I was adding 16 oz of each part to my 180 daily and couldnt keep Alk above 8 DKH

Sucks to hear all this about the CA reactor, I thought it'd make life a ton easier.

It does make life easier but I still recomend using B-ionic you just dont need to use it as much ( it can save you a bunch of money considering the cost of b-ionic).

yeah your kalk + ca reactor combo works really well, the excessive Co2 created by the ca reactor powers the breakdown of kalk, creating less bicarbonate and more ca ions in your tank. but you know if you break down the kalk powder with acidic acid (vinegar) you will not need the co2 to break down the kalk in your tank. but since you have a ca reactor, this is a win win situtation for your tank, i think dosing mag and str is awsome on top of that, i think frank has the balanced system overall. but im questioning ca reactor vs bionic or kalk vs bionic. mainly not for the alk or ca properties but the other stuff in bionic.

I've used B-Ionic for 8 years now.
I have had good growth and color in both tanks.

I dose about 200 ml per day of each in a 210gal.
Both tanks had quiet a bit of SPS in them.

It was about the same for my 180.

My levels always stayed around 450 Cal 10 dkh ALK.

Auto dosers are the only way to go if B-ionic is what you choose to use.

Here is an old pic

Bob (from ESV) stops by everyonce in a while and he's done some crazy stuff with that b-ionic that no one seems to be able to duplicate. He tells me that there is a lot of other things in it besides calcium and thats what makes it ioniclly balanced. This is also why I insist on adding it to every aquarium (fish only as well as reef) even if it has a calcium reactor.

That was about 2 years ago.

The new tank is well on it's way to surpass the old.

Bob from ESV is the one who got me on the right track.

I find you have to use MAG also to keep things in ballance, because of coraline growth.

I use Mag. stron. iodid and the b-ionic

I've been having great success with it for a long time

I used to not use the magnesium until I had a long discussion with Bob about it like 3 years ago. Now that I use the mag. as well with much better results.

sean you should ask bob what's inside of bionic, like what trace elements, because i dont know what is inside of it, and im about to use it. kinda worries me even tho everyone said it kicks ass
