I know aaron started a thread on return pumps a week ago and some of you chimed in on the eheim pumps.

Just wanted to get some other feedback on the eheims. Thinking about using the 1260 for my 70 but I'll be upgrading in a few months to a 120. Right now I'm using a mag 7 which I've taken apart to clean but it still makes a lot of noise.

I'll have to try a rubber mat under the sump as well to dissipate the noise before I bite the bullet and get an eheim. For a few months maybe I could just get by.

Not that it is related to Reefs or Fish tanks... but I do use an Eheim 1260 to cool my PC. It is extremely quiet and has been running for over a year.

Terrence: Thanks. The eheim has to be better than a mag drive pump any day of the week. Are you looking to get rid of it?

definitely better. it is brand new, not looking to get rid of it, just haven't set it up yet. want to get it running within a week; will let you know how it does then.

Thanks. I just missed out on an ebay opportunity to get it at $50 brand new but it was missing a small piece that was considered inconsequential. I'll keep looking. Let me know how it works out. I may just bite the bullet and get one anyway before I set up my 120.

the more flow the better ecfencing. since your upgrading eventually just go with a bigger pump. instead of spending money on something your going to end up selling for less. just make sure ur sump has enough water so the pump never runs dry
