Phosphate Media

I have read alot that rowaphos is the best phosphate removal product. Only problem is that it is so expensive. Does anyone recommend any other product I can buy as a substitute?

Re: Phosphate Media

The next popular item would probably be phosban.

you can buy a cheaper GFO but it will cost you the same in the long run because most of the other GFO out there do not last as long so you will be swapping out media more often. just my opinion

I run Phosban and was wondering what the replacement interval is? Do you test for phosphates to determine when to change it or do you change it every six months like the package states ?

If you are testing for phos. to get a true reading you should be using a Hanna meter.I will bet your reading`s are not 0.....
