Question gen x pcx 70 elec. question??

on my new genx pcx 70 it says that power consumption is 300 watts

but output is 180.

what are they and whih is th e one i should look at>

that dosent make any sense, any motor name plate should say the voltage,in volts,
the load in ampers or wattage,the ampage or watts are giveing under full load,when a motor runs underload it use less amps or watts,does this make sense to you matt

i did some research for you, it's 180 watts per pole, there are two poles in your pump causing it to double, which is 180watts x 2 is around 360, their claim is for the pump to use 3.2 amps which means 110 x 3.2 = around 352 watts.

so much for finding a lower wattage pump. that not cool, Matt was trying to replace a 290 watt coralife pump, now he's a got a pump the uses even more energy than the old one

damn that really blows!! thats not what they advertise i didnt set it up because i wasnt sure although i did open the box. i will call dr. fosters and ask for a return.

talk about false advertising!!

I just got a bigger wattage pump then my 290. hey fry if you got anymore fans i will take one. so where to get a good quality pump is the question

i guess tunze is looking better

ok i called dr fosters and smith and they told me that it was 180 but then after explaining to them what was written on the tag on the pump itself they told me that they would return it except i would have to pay for shipping and handeling YEAH RIGHT!!! I told them i wouldnt have wasted my time with the order if this was known and they credited me back the money totally.

so anyone know wher ei cna get a tunze water return pump??

You want low wattage? Go for a German pump. Tunze makes good ones for a good price. If money aint an issue go for the Red Dragons or ATK Black Devil.

Sure the price of these things are higher but they pay for themselves in a short time.

Not to mention you get bragging rights!! :icon16:
