if it's a Jersey shore crab he will fist pump the chaeto and make it into a protein shake

Nah, once it gets a foot hold on the eggcrate, I need to use a foxtail brush. So no one thinks a zebrasoma will do the trick?

Tobin,
What else will that shore crab do (destruction wise)?

I'm pretty sure Zebrasoma won't touch it. I'm also surprised it is hard to remove from eggcrate. You sure it is chaetomorpha?

I can't imagine how chaeto could be difficult to remove. It does not attach to anything. It may wrap around your egg crate but it is not attach to it. If it does then it is not chaeto.

I also do not think this is chaeto. Chaeto is very easy to remove. Now, if is Calerpa, this can be a big pain.

Might want to post a picture. The reason, is that this is probably not chaeto.

As an aside, when I first bought chaelo, I went to a LFS and specifically asked for Chaeto. I was sold Calerpa and was not told it was this.

Good luck,

maybe hit it with a toothbrush and then run a ton of GFO to prevent it from regrowing?

The reason this is so puzzling is that Warren (Pecan) is one of the most experienced reefers on the board ( I mean decades) and surely knows Chaeto when he sees it!!
