Besides the obvious things like water and salt, I'm gonna have to go with Chemipure elite. It brought my nitrates and phosphates down to undetectable.

Put in this floating decorator crab. He stuck bubble algae on his shell and floated away. Thats the single best thing I added to my tank to make it run better.

have benn keeping reef tank for the last 15 years bst thing changing from Metal halide to t5 lighting ! ati powermodule 8 bubs colors are far better different types of sps are much nicer

For now the best thing I did to my tank/home is RO/DI water, I have a drinking kit so I can use RO water for drinking & RO/DI for the tank.

Here is a photo from a few months ago. I have no SPS. I only keep LPS and Softies. I also have a crocea clam attached to a rock near the sandbed and it is thriving. All in all i am happy with the 4 bulb setup. As far as SPS goes you may be ok if they are placed at the top of the tank.
