Rich, With Postal insurance, either the shipper or the receiver can file the claim. It's dependent on who has the receipts. Most ebayers will forward the insurance receipt to the receiver since they don't want to do the dirty deed. But in order to file a claim, you need the following: Item in orginal package as received and all packing material that was included, insurance receipt at time of mailing, and proof of value. The proof of value usually means the receipt for the item but in ebay claims, you can provide a printout of the Pay Pal receipt as the proof of value. What will determine the validity of the claim is the original box and packing material. If they deem that the item was not packed securely, they might deny your claim. So right now since the seller has the insurance receipt, you cannot file the claim unless he sends it to you or he can also file the claim by filling out the necessary paper work and submitting the receipts and have his local Post Office forward the claim to your local Post Office in Far Rockaway. You will need to bring in your damaged package though. One thing you should know though, Mail carriers are required to input a scan that there is "visible damage" on an insured package if there is any at the time of delivery. You did have to sign for it correct? The 21 day wait is incorrect info whoever gave you that. If you receive a damaged insured package, you can file a claim immediately upon receipt as long as you have all the neccessary documents. When an insured article is "lost" in the mail, then you need to wait 30 days from the time of mailing. HTHs Also wanted to say sorry for your bad experience with the skimmer, I know you were excited to get it and must be madder than a pitbull fed hot sauce so no jokes ![]() |

Hey, awesome skimmer thread guys. Cali Reef, if you are still following this thread, I would love to hear your updated thoughts on how your BK is doing compared to your Barr. I am interested in hearing how things are going and which one is pulling harder. |

Barr can pull wet, dry, or medium with a easy twist of gate valve knob. The best constructed acrylic skimmer I have put my hands on. The two down sides are electrical consumption for a huge a$$ pump and the noise the beckett makes. BK is a nice and quiet skimmer, uses much less power and the column is filled with uniform sized little bubbles. Adjusting is a pain in the a$$, the wedge pipe is a super cheap version of a gate valve and pretty much useless at low flow rate. I use the telescoping connector to make my adjustments, the skimmer does hold the adjusted foam level pretty well once adjusted. I am a little shock to find finger prints melted into some glue joints, it is a shame to see that on a expensive German product. I would say the Barr is the best skimmer for the money.. As long as you don't mind the noise and the monthly electric bill. PS. Don't buy MRC, it is a piece of crap. Last edited by cali_reef; 04-18-2006 at 12:22 AM. |

first you have to set both returns equel, and yes you need both, or they would not be there, some of the new BK's come with just one return but the pipe is larger in diameter, then the one pipe you are using right now for return is to low, you need to rise the "T" and open up the wedge pipe, | |||||||||||||||||||||||

looking at the thread you linked earlyer in the thread, that BK 250 is set right, and there is no reason why your BK shouldn't perform just as good as this one, taken from the thread you linked, http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...hreadid=768740 ![]() ![]() |
