can someone recommend a feed pump for it. I forgot it needs one.

the two pumps on it are the same as the aqua-bee pumps, DAS just licensed the deltec design and put their name on them.
they are 38 watts and 2000 L/hr.
the skimmer is 27 7/8" tall, and the tube is 6" in diameter.
the collection cup rotates off the body using a very well made three bladed twist lock.
the skimmer cost $520.00 from petorama.net

in the pics I forgot to attach the air lines to the pumps.

edit: I may try to run a feed line to the skimmer from one of my 1.5" drain lines.
Is it possible to fit this unit in an area confined to 29" in height, and be able to get the collection cup off? If not, does anyone know what the dimensions are for the DAS EX-3? Any pics of the collection cup only?
I am trying to find a skimmer to fit under my AGA 210, w/ AGA Mission CNPY. T.I.A.

This thread has been very helpful, and I have read many.

nice to finally see some pics of the DAS's i'll be ordering the DAS ex-1 next friday as soon as my paycheck gets here , unless tropiquarium gets them in next week for about the same price.

I know someone that did a gate valve mod on their apf600 and I am thinking about doing the same thing to the ex-1. simply putting a gate valve before the T on the outlet pipe. anyone see anything wrong with that?

Hey DirtySouth, welcome to Manhattan reefs! If I remember correctly the dimensions of the ex-3 are 30" high with a 17 1/2" footprint. You should consider the internal models. The pumps are under the acrylic tube so the footprint is much smaller.

Thanks for the welcome. My problem is my height restriction at 29", I like the responces on the DAS units, but they seem too big what what I'm looking to do. BAck to the drawing board.

hey DirtySouth welcome

I measured the skimmer with the cup resting on the top of the body, you need 28 3/16" to get the cup off, it would work with your 29". you have a whole 13/16" to play with

with out the cup on the body, it's 24 1/4", the body is actually shorter, but there is a riser tube that sticks above the body. now the question is can you fit the skimmer under the stand. how tall is are the sump walls, or do you want to run this externally? that would be much easier.

Hey Dirtysouth! Welcome dude! If you look on the first page of this thread you will see the DAS BX3. Perfect for the AGA 210. Pulls skimmate like a mother.. All you gotta do is drop it into your sump and forget it. Comes with a carbon chamber (ideal for ozone use) and a post filter. The total height is 24"

Jhale - a good amount for your skimmer input is between 600 - 700 gph. The ballvalve will take care of thet.

All DAS like the deltecs work most efficiently with the airvalve positioned at the 1 o clock position. Fully open the each pump sucks 10 liters per minute resulting in slightly larger bubbles in the neck due to the turbulence and collision. With the airvalve slightly closed it produces just the right size.
