This is how I had it plumbed. ![]() A 45 elbow came out of the outlet Tee, then a 90 once I ran out of room in the sump, to get the water to enter the sump at an angle. I just changed it to a 90degree elbow coming out of the outlet T with a pipe going straight down into the sump, and the end of the pipe is cut at an angle so half of it is submerged and half not. Cali reef is this what you were talking about. It is much quieter, but not silent. Maybe If I cover the back of the stand it will be. Last night I took the pump off and and checked the impeller for anything in it and made sure it was sitting well. Everything was fine. I also put the venturi tube in the water and the pump is actually a little louder when its not sucking in air. Thanks for all the help you guys. |

I've had the DAS EX-2 for a couple months now and am noticing that I'm not getting that much skimmate anymore. The past three weeks, I've only gotten about 1/2 inch worth of gunk in the cup. I've heard there are ways to get "wetter" and "dryer" foam, but how do you do that? The only 2 adjustments I know of are the air intakes (which I have at 90% open) and the inflow valve from the sump into the skimmer (which I have most of the way open as well). Or is there something else that may be wrong that I might be missing? Thanks, Nate |

Jonathan, Here is a picture of the exit pipe I use, the blue mark is where the water level in the sump needs to be. I cut the angle using a 12" miter saw. |

![]() I finally got it dialed in right & I think it did need some "break in" period.
