Just be sure to thoroughly rinse off any dust that has accumulated on the non-LR; it might contain contaminants. Otherwise, there shouldn't be any negative affects.

I would rinse them good, soak in used tank water for a few weeks and test the water to make sure it is not leaching stuff out. I saw some kid pouring soda over dry rocks at FT few years ago, always makes me leery about putting stuff not sealed in my tank.

I mean base rock (non-live). So i guess it is contaminants free.

Damn, the kid probably had too much soda. Hope he didn't peep in FT's tank...lolz :D

I think, i'll soak it in saltwater for several weeks before introducing it to the tank.

The type of rock you add is also a factor. Make sure its safe.
I think it's probably figi base rock, i'm just a little concern with the fishes in the tank.

Thanks for the input guys!

Make sure that the baserock does not have any organic stuff in it that will start to decompose when put into the tank. At one point it was alive, which is reason enough to be concerned.

I would put it in saltwater for a few days with a powerhead. Do the "sniff" test and check the nitrates... If all is OK, it will not be a problem.

Yea I would probably do the same thing, check for ammonia as well.
