Are you referring to the borate seachem is putting in the salt? this is one discussion on RC about it, http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...23#post5343923 I do not think it hurts, the only thing you need to do is switch to a seachem alk test kit. |

Jon, i like that print screen from Safari! i agree that the borate should be beneficial as it adds buffering capacity. Seachem actually adds it to the salt intentionally - i dont think they would be doing that if they weren't convinced that it would have a positive effect. you dont NEED to use the seachem alk kit with the salt, but it helps in that you can test how much of your alk is carbonate and how much is borate.

Saw Ronen & slama today at Atlantis and I asked about the salt, he's still waiting to hear from Seachem directly. Geez Mike, you could have asked Ronen yourself today ![]() |

OK ,I just spoke to one of the salemans from seachem How much salt do we need ,(amount of buckets .or bags?) Reason is ,we can get free shipping if we buy over $3500 in salt ,,but that alot of salt Last edited by DEEPWATER; 03-16-2006 at 01:10 PM. |
