Missing Chromis

I was just wondering how fast two peppermint shrimp and a few hermit crabs can eat a small dead chromis? I have a 12 gallon edge and been looking for him for the last hour. Just wondering if there may be something im overlooking?

Is tank covered? If not, you will feel something weird on your bare feet one day and when you look, you will see a squashed, fry little fish stuck to you.

From my experience with chromis, If you buy 5 they will kill the weaker ones out and you will eventually end up with 2-3.. buy 3 and you'll end up with 2. It never fails unless you have a large enough tank where they can hide. Some other reefers I know bought 12 and eventually they withered down to about 5-6 over 2-3 month span.

i purchased 5 one day and then after a cpl days i was down to 3 then i went to buy 5 more the following week and i was losing one every day until i was down to 2 and that is where i am at now 2. i have had 2 now for 5 days
