Clemens lucky and in the right place at the right time?!? You have got to be kidding man! You are talking about a legendary hall of fame pitcher who will be remembered as one of the greatest pitchers the game has ever seen. He probably should have just stayed home this year, but when the Yanks are knocking at your door offering you an insane amount of money, you are going to take it if you think you have a few good starts left in you. |

Reefer Ratings: (9) Friends: (0) | As a pitcher, Clemens is one of the best. As a hitter, ARod is the BEST. BTW, he didn't just stayed home and Yanks knocking at his door step. His agent had lunch meeting with Boston. And Yanks got paniced and offered him the most ridiculous money ever offered him. If you think $30+mil for Arod is ridiculous, but that's cheaper than what you got out of Clemens this year. Last edited by Savager; 10-30-2007 at 05:10 PM. |

Luck has nothing to do with hitting one home run in four past post seasons and how ever hundred home runs in the reg season. Giambi wasn't as bad as you think or everyone makes it seem, he just never lived up to all the hype. Pavano pitch five games the whole time he was here and mayb the same with Kei Igawa, you can't honestly say because of three players arod had crap players around him. every team every year has crap players around them, that's a bad reason to say luck had anything to do with clemens wining a ring and arod not

This was very amusing year to watch Yankees this year. Yankees spend their money left and right. Alot of time, they got big return. But at the sametime, they wasted their money like no other out there. Yankees' been known to spend money to get the team the best you can offer to their fan base which I do admired that. You have to put the best product out there to make money. Yet, they try to save $ 2 mil dollar from Joe Torre, that's ridiculous. Turned down their true Yankees player, Bernie Williams, because he got too old. Yet, they signed the oldest pitcher with record setting deal. Lost the bid on Dice-k, so they have to waste money on other japnese pitcher. Didn't signed Mo beginning of this year because that's not the Yankees tradition. Yet, Yankees gave a permission to Clemens to go home while he is not pitching (although I doubt Clemens ever did go home, I am not sure). Calling ARod non true Yankees, because he opted out for more money, yet you have a player like Clemens seeking for more money and throw a welcome home party. To be honest, Yankees as a whole group lost alot of credibility this year. |

two- again, it wasn't the money, it was the length in contract, which honestly they should have just given Torre three- again, wasnt' treated fairly, but also didn't show up. and age has gotten to bernie, two at the beginning of the season, where was the weak spot of the yankess, not in the outfield or dh, it was pitching. Clemens still proven at his age to be able to give a good outting, granted his performance this year was sub-clemens like, still needed his presence on the mound and in the clubhouse with the rookies. and no he never used the pass card and fyi, he isn't the only one that has something like that in their contract or has done something like that to not travel. again, in ny it all gets blown out. four- i'm glad we lost out on dice-k, cause are you seriously saying he's worth one hundred and whatever the million the contract and "talking fees" are. as for kei, different league different player, he was one of the best in japan, now his one of the worst in america, even though at times he looked pretty good. what difference does it make if we signed him in the beginning or at the end, really?? how does that impact on how the yankees are?? all your points, just sound like every other hater
