Alex the Cat

Alex the cat had his teeth taken out Tuesday (thanks to all the folks at the frag swap who bought my frags and helped me pay for this!). He's still not back to his old self yet. His little face is swollen, he will only eat chopped up, low sodium deli ham and the pain killers make him act a little wierd. The vet tells me it's pretty stand stuff and that he should feel a little better each day. One thing we did discover in the pre-op blood work ist that his kidneys have begun to show signs of age and impaired function. One we get him back on kitty food we'll try to switch him over to a prescription diet for cats with kidney disease.

This is Alex:

And these are his little Siamese buddies Jasper (front) and Timmy (back). Timmy is my avatar.

I hope Alex has a quick recovery, and the new food helps.

Happy to hear that Alex did well during surgery, I recall how concerned you were.

Some loss of kidney function in a cat his age is not uncommon and the prescription food will be very helpful. Although we prefer to offer our pets a variety of different flavors of food, they don't require it. If you do leave dry food out all day for your cats to graze on, try to remember to ask your vet if Jasper & Timmy would also benefit from the same food.
