I think if a natural disaster occured here we could not handle it! People are to busy with the self interest and who's got the better car etc(no one cares about nothin but self)!
We used to be a nation who only trusted in God (according to the dollar bill) But we dont even have that anymore!
No wonder nothing is going right for this country!

I still have hope for us but i guess im one of the "few fools left"!

I read an article that made soo much sense to me. They didnt specifically correlate this with our country's crappy economy, but back in the 80's when jock culture ran rampant ie movies like animal house, it really discredited being schooling, being smart, science etc..from that point on American science has been lagging versus our competitors and it was no longer cool to be into science. Domestic development and innovation obviously play a part in our economy however we are behind other countries.

My take is that while the government does screw up the economy to some extent, the culture we develop and allow also plays a part in it. This combined with capitalism equal a society tht doesnt develop leaders and innovators like it should.

Instead today's youth has rap artist and plastic materialistic girls to look up to....quite sad actually

i dont think the government is at fault i think its us the people who give bad defaulted loans bad credit lending etc.

100% agree to that! And then it goes back to them! The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.... when it really starts going downhill I'm moving the Canada! The government seems to give the people much more benefits than the US.....
