Thats why I stopped pressing vinyl. I would press 5000 180g 12" domestic release with color labels for like around $3 each. I luckily worked at a distributor and could make them buy them for like $4.25 each, forcing store costs to be like 4.75. It would finally retail for like 7-8 bux for a domestic release lol. Now that its all digital its a new game. No overhead, just make whatever ya like and hand it over to the web. I like that alot better cause I cant lose anything but the time i invested in making the song, which is nothing compared to mastering, pressing, making graphics, and bank payout etc etc that would go into pressing vinyl. It does have its downside tho... People are more likely to release crappy tunes cause there is not as much personal loss for your company. No risk allows for sloppier releases by wanna be producers. I guess its up to webmasters now to decide if the music is worthy enough to go live for the public. Hope they have good taste lol.

Serato is the isht! I'm a true Hip-Hip DJ & was always against any equipment that took away from vinyl...... ....until I tried Serato ![]() The only thing I don't like is, I can't find Acapella's & Instrumentals like my 12"'s used to have. Any recommended sites? Another thing I never tried was to down-load an entire CD so I can post up... Any hosting sites? |
