Why not hit up Jones Beach?
Or go the exact opposite direction and head up to Bear Mountain. It's great there. Lots to do, walking distance to the Hudson. Make sure you have your camera with you. Nice photo ops.

Good luck, and enjoy the event.

Thanks, Just check both site, the Liberty State Park have no grill and I don't think allow to bbq, and the Heckscher, has tested positive for the West Nile Virus.

I was checking on the Spruce Run State Park, have you ever been there? Or any other park?

Thanks

Mak, just shoot them a quick phone call. I'm sure your questions can be answered in no time.

Contact Information for Beaver Pond Campground in Harriman State Park:
700 Kanawaukee Road
Stony Point, NY 10911
Phone: (845) 947-2792

The link above might actually answer all the questions you might have. It is very comprehensive. Keep me posted where you decide upon. I don't live far from Bear Mountain/Harriman State Park. I actually met my wife at the Inn at Bear Mountain. I guess it was meant to be.

Have fun,

HTH,
Russ

Wolfs pond is not as nice as Cheesequake. If you get there early enough you can just take over a section of grills and picnic area. The one by the lake is very nice and has lots of shade also. not only that I know where you can sneak into cheesequake LOL. It's right across the street from my house.

Then Robert Moses. At the beaches, they have grills in the picnic area. And the waters are beautiful right now. I like bbqing really early in the morning there. No one to spoil the scenery and it's really cool, not hot. No offense.
