Mods operate by the rules of the board, which there are separate rules for Vendors too. Vendors bring in and selling difficult to keep fish and corals should let people know the requirement to keep these animals, not to mention have respect for the marine environment.

Any member on this board should question someone bring in a fish, that requires a min 600gal tank, and then keeping it in a way too small shallow 280 gal tank.

Mod # 2 shovelling the BS.

First of all, on my website, the only place where you can buy this, I say "Absolute minimum 600 gallons please. These sharks cannot be exposed to copper, and need expert care"

Second of all, you sound like an idiot when you speak of a store's handling capacity in terms of a hobbiest attempting to keep an animal long term. "keeping it in a way too small shallow 280..." I, like any store, has no intention to "keep" it.

Walk into any store, online or otherwise. Every tank is "overstocked". Every fish is in "too small a tank".

"Any member on this board should question..." not on selling threads, as per MR rules.

Now please get off your soap boxes.

No, everyone shouldn't agree.
That's why people buy and sell all kinds of sharks.

If you aren't interested in buying, please stay out of my threads.

Thanks again mods.

I'm still trying to understand why you would ever purchase such an animal.
2000 gallons? That is not big enough for a whitetip reef shark unless you plan on keeping it only for a short time (probably not even a year).

Nice fish Michael. That shark is a beaut! There are several people on the other site who take care of large aquariums for celebrities and are always on the look out for white and black tips. That is a good price too. You probably won't have it long (if you still do). There was a person who had a pro basketball player client in cleveland with a huge aquarium that was two stories in his home. I believe he was building a bigger viewing tank too. I'll see if I can find his email address and I'll forward it to you. I passed him along to House of Fish as they had a small blacktip they wanted to try and sell so maybe Jim has his info.

Isn't that the case for all animals? Why is a shark any different than a Tang? There are a lot of people with tanks that can house smaller shark species. Some even breed Nurse sharks in captivity and they get over 10 feet long.

Dom, for the record. HOF NEVER had a black tip shark for sale. We did try to find a home for one that a customer had though.

A customer Russ? Come on now...You guys told me it was one of your distributors. Don't make it sound like you were helping a friend unless you guys flat out lied to me to try and make a buck. I am surprised at your response.

not taking side's and i do agree that really isnt a animal for any tank reguardless, but there are some people with huge tanks, as well as there are 100% members that have a animal that is too large no matter how big your tank is. including my happy 7 fish in my nano
