The Burgess' Butterfly is quite shy and should be provided with multiple hiding places. The ideal aquarium will be at least 50 gallons and will contain plenty of live rock that will provide cover from the light and a supplemental food source. They are not good candidates for the reef aquarium, as they will pick at any feather dusters, anemones and LPS corals. However, they are useful in a reef aquarium that does not contain the former, as they will control aiptasia anemones.

Burgess' Butterfly
SKU:
Chaetodon burgessi

This is a rare and striking deepwater species that is one of the most durable aquarium butterflyfishes. It will accept most aquarium foods. It is a bold species that tends to spend most of its time in the open. It can be employed to clean live rock of glass anemones, however, it will also feed on some of the more desirable invertebrates living on the rock.
Highly rare and sought after, when available, you should jump at them....

sort of opposite in my opinion. beautiful fish and great price in any event.

Just curious, what are the MR rules pertaining to youbedormine18's post? I didn't think it was off base by highlighting a difference of opinion from a valid source. Yes, and we all know Michael has great prices, and stand up guy.

Agreed, what I like about MR over say RC is that you are allowed to comment such as yourbedormine18 did.

Fritz/CAAD3,
I believe this is a for sale thread from an MR vendor since he stated availability & price, I thought unless you are inquiring about to purchase.....well, enough said.

also, "opposite" regarding being "reefsafe" it was mentioned that it might indulge in more desirable inverts as mentioned on his site. did not hide that fact.

why do we always need all this drama
