My Canon A610..

luved this camera but I dropped it awhile back and it takes scrabbled weird pics...so I figured i need to replace...moneys tight so ive been w/o a decent cam for 2 months now....
my ques is, can it be fixed for less than 100 bux, should i do the swithcharoo and buy a new cam and switch it for the old broke 1, or should i just break down and buy a new cam like the a620?

1) can the a610 be fixed
2) can it be fixed for less than 100 bux
3) should i do a switcharoo
4) should i just buy a new cam...

Isn't it still under warranty? I thought most cameras carry a long warranty period.

i got it on ebay...and i think its expired

I would contact Canon and see if it's still under warranty, you can always tell them you lost the receipt or even come up with one if you need to.

Mike, try to talk to cannon about it but dont tell them you dropped it! Cannon MAY replace it for a minimal cost of shipping or if they dont I can help get you whatever camera you want for practically wholesale or lower with a warranty. Let me know which one you like and ill do my best to get you the best price. Im sure our photgrapher Mr JHale can help you on which camera is best for what you need it for.

as for a replacement so many new cameras come out each week it's hard to keep up with them. I do my camera research at http://www.dpreview.com/.
they are linked to cnet's pricing guides so you can get quick pricing info.
make sure you do not shop at all the crap gray market shady online stores though, they have thier low pricing also which is always a bunch of BS.
