Some old tank photos

The first picture was taken in the seventees. The male blue devil is in front of his nest which is full of eggs. Him and one of his girlfriends (he had six) spawned every month or so for seven years.

The second picture was my tank in (I think) the late eightees. This picture was in one of the aquarium magazines but I forget which one. I have it somewhere. That urchin is a purple urchin from Long Island. I used to have an urchin collection business. I collected them with SCUBA.
This other picture is a bunch of baby octopus I hatched. Unfortunately, octopus only lay eggs once and then the mother dies. I was not able to raise the little crawlers but when they would wrestle a bvrine shrimp they would ink.
The lower picture is in Bora Bora. The Babe is my wife. I have one of those movie caps on to make me look bald

Thanks Awilda. I met you a couple of days ago. Don't I still look like I did in this picture from about 1972?
See all those expensive blue devils and dead coral in there?
Thats what salt water tanks looked like then

Great thread, I love seeing these pics and hearing about the history of your tank. What size tank is that that the damsels were breeding in?

There is an article that was published about 15 years ago about the history of my tank and reefing itself but it is on RC and I don't know if I am allowed to link to it

You do not look a day older!!!!! I certainly do remember the days of the dead corals & fish tanks. I believe I had one of those as well.lol Actually I still have them in a box in my basement. Can't believe the $$$ I paid for them back then either.lol
