My clowns are not coming out, please help.

I got a pair of clowns last week but they are hiding in the corner. They do not come out to eat and they are thinning. What can I do to make them happier and healthier?

Have you tried adding garlic to at least get them to eat?

Also leave them hide, they should come out eventually. Its still a very new place to them

check everything about your water parameters. are they wild caught? tank bred? its not uncommon for them to hide for a bit after introducing them to a new tank. turning your lights off may coax them out. give it a bit of time and test your water for everything basic

Babe88,

They probably just need time to get used to the tank. What are you feeding them? How old is the tank?

How to tell wild caught or not?

My mom said that the water is tested OK.

I tried the garlic and the Selcon but they do not seem to be interested.

I watched the tank ten feet away for over half an hour but they still do not come out. I am starting to worry that I will loose them soon.

Please help.

Give them some time to get used to the tank and they will be fine. Feed the other side of the tank to try and draw them out and let them come to you. My clowns have all hidden on me but given time they all attack my hand when I put i in the tank near their territory.
