Cool thanks. I'll dose the tank every other day then. How's turning off the skimmer and just shooting it at the return pump in sump and let it spread around to main tank?

DT's is suppose to smell bad... a small TINT of nastyness. If it goes beyond that its bad.

Turning off return pumps is best and skimmer (toomuch trouble).

Yeah...live phyto products will always have "some" rotten smell since it is a live product and the live phyto is producing waste. When it smells real bad, even after the bottle has been open for awhile to exhaust the gas the it's probably time to toss it. I always keep my bottles of phyto-feast in the very back of my refrigerator.

I dose mine in the return section of my sump and let the dual nozzles on my return disperse it around my tank. I kill the skimmer for 20 minutes, but after reading this thread, sounds like bumping that time up to an hour would be a better idea.

Dts smell. Odor should be that of sulphur kindof like egg or fart. Rotten smell= went bad needs to be thrown in the trash. u should either buy more and smell it before u buy it or go to h20. also there should be a use by date sticker on dts. if its not past the date somebody messed up and didnt refrigerate it. this is what i do

Shake the bottle every few days really hard
then i sqeeze all the air out and allow the bubbles at the top to dissapate
then i take a good wiff
sulphur, sea smell=good
dying animal smell=bad
