I am currently running both a SEIO 1500 and a MJ 1200 in the same tank. I bought another SEIO 1500 to replace the maxi but haven't done it yet. I guess what I'm saying is, spend the extra $ and go for the better pump. You won't be disappointed.

herman means the pretty picture will help you get all the answers you need. LOL

eventhough your question was directed towards tony, i would like to answer if i may.:j/k:

in the 48bow you can go w/:

2-620 (little flow) or
1-620 and 1-820 (good option) or
2-820 (higher flow- best option-you can always tune the flow down if too much)

to give you an idea i started w/ 2-620s in my 40br and i liked the amount of flow in the tank. it all depends on the amount of flow you want and what you currently have in your tank.

btw what's your name? i hate typing findingnemo it's too long.

I had one 620 in my 16g bow and it was totally inadequate. I upped it to the 820 and I'm happy with it.
In a 48g I would go with at least one 1100........JMO.

It all depends on the livestock you plan to keep.

In my 46BF, 2 620's with my Mag 7 return was fine.
