What is that noise?

I have my new setup with live rock thats been cycling for a month and a few weeks ago i got some corals in there. For some odd reason I keep hearing popping sounds. I have hermits and snails but no broken shells anywhere. I just hear pops every now and then but I dont see anything. Could it still be a mantis or a pistol shrimp that hitchhiked? How can i find them damn thing or capture it?

pistols wont kill anything and are reef safe, but mantis do kill things and eat them....so if you find dead fish and broken shells go hunting, if not probably jsut a pistol

i also notice a few slug looking things that are white and can shoot at a long web looking thing and retract them. I caught one in its in a jar but part of it got cut off and is still in the tank moving. I also see another one that I cant get to and its even bigger. It shoots a web like 6 inches long and if I tap on the glass where its on it retracts it back.... some weird ass creatures coming out at night....

i had the same problem one time......and i finally realized its the dam coralife powercenter clicking(loud).....the timer had stopped working for quite a while and then it started clicking every few minutes!

sorry if not making sense....just did a water change and its getting late....time for bed

With another "pistol".Just make sure you don't miss because then they'll be water all over.

sometimes the clicking sound comes from hermits banging each others shells
